QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE THE ANSWERS!
If you have registered for a Blended Learning course you will be submitted to the online component of the course the next business day after registering and will receive an email from the Red Cross. Further information on accessing your online component once you have received an email invite from the Canadian Red Cross is available in your confirmation email including a video tutorial.
The only exception is if you have booked a course that is more than 6 weeks away. Then you will receive the email 6 weeks prior to your in-class date. This is because the online component is valid for 6 weeks so it cannot be completed more than 6 weeks before the in-class session.
Courses are non-refundable unless cancelled by Heart to Heart. You can find full information on refunds and transfers on the refund policy page. You are advised to read this during registration and check to agree to the terms before submitting your registration. Any requests for refunds or transfers should be submitting in writing to register@heart2heartcpr.com. Please be aware our office opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM until 5 PM excluding public holidays, we appreciate your patience.
You can find our full policy here: https://www.heart2heartcpr.com/refund-policy/
If your refund request has been approved it can take 5-15 business days for the refund to be processed. We always aim to process any approved refunds as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience. Once processed if you paid with a Credit or Debit card it may take a few days to reflect on your bank balance depending on your financial institution. If you paid by PayPal, it will be refunded back onto your PayPal account.
You will receive your permanent certification no more than 5 business days following the course. You can request a temporary certificate from your instructor at the course if required, the temporary certificate is valid for 30 days. If you did not receive one and require one, please email register@heart2heartcpr.com or call us directly, our team will be happy to help. Please be aware our office opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM until 5 PM excluding public holidays, we appreciate your patience.
All participants and our instructors must wear a mask throughout the course and maintain proper social distancing. As participants and the instructor must remain 6 feet apart at all times the number of participants allowed in a training session varies depending on the classroom size. Numbers vary from 6-9 depending on the location. Participants are encouraged to wash hands regularly throughout the course and hand sanitizer is available. We follow strict protocols for equipment sanitization. Participants will now participate in any partner work during the course to maintain distancing.
Due to the current pandemic the online component for a Blended Learning course is now valid for 90 days. If expired, you would need to complete the online component again. After December 31st, 2021, the online component will return to only being valid for 6 weeks.

In 2018 The Canadian Red Cross stopped offering the one-hour HCP add on to CPR/AED Level C courses. We now offer the Professional Responder Course Basic Life Support (BLS). BLS is designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation.
BLS is for:
In-facility care providers, including nursing staff, care aides, medical and dental professionals.
Pre-hospital care providers, which may include professionals in a fire service, rescue team, sports-medicine, lifeguards and ski patrol.

In order to attend your in-class training for a blended course you must have already completed the online component. If you have trouble accessing the online component you must contact prior to the course. We would recommend at least 5 days prior so we can resolve any issues you may be experiencing, and you have time to complete the online learning. This can be up to 8 hours of work depending on your course type. We also call you prior to the course to find out if you have been able to access your course, if you do not report any issues before the course, you will not be able to transfer your booking. Please make sure to start the online component leaving yourself enough time to complete it before your in-class session and contact us as early as possible if you experience any difficulties accessing the online component. You can call our office directly or email register@heart2heartcpr.com. Please be aware our office hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM until 5 PM excluding public holidays.

Instructor Development Program (IDP)
To become an instructor in first aid and CPR you first need to attend and complete the Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C course and obtain a certificate. Once this is done, you can register for a First Aid and CPR Instructor course on our website or by calling/emailing our office.
The FAI course is divided into 4 components.
- First is the Skill Assessment that is fully in class
- Second is the Fundamentals of Instruction which consists of an online course first, then a 2 day in class.
- Third is the Discipline Specific component which is only a 2 day in class course.
- Finally you have to pass a Teaching Experience (TE) component which consists of an online course first, the a TE Co-teach.
One you complete the 4 day FAI course, you have to complete your TE online component and then your TE in class component (aka co-teach). For your co-teach, you will have to teach part of the course with another Instructor who is qualified to evaluate your skills and presentation. You also have the option to schedule an observation class where you can come in and watch how a course is taught by a certified instructor, before your co-teach.
To book your observation and/or co-teach, please contact us by emailing office@heart2heartcpr.com.
No you do not. You only need to complete the participant level certificate for the course you want to be an instructor of. However, for more advanced courses such as Basic Life Support (HCP) or Emergency Medical Responder, we recommend that you have hand on experience as you will be training professionals in those fields, such as nurses, paramedics, and firefighters, etc.
