Responding to an overdose demands immediate, coordinated action. In our First Aid 4 Real video, bystanders quickly work together to save a woman unresponsive from an overdose. One person performs chest compressions, then flips her onto her back for further CPR while another provides rescue breaths. Together, they perform the life-saving 30 compressions followed by two breaths, keeping oxygen flowing until responders arrive.
Once first responders reach the scene, they administer naloxone to counteract the overdose, while CPR continues to support oxygen flow. This coordinated response allows the woman to regain consciousness and stabilizes her condition until she can receive further care at a hospital.
In overdose situations, knowing how to perform CPR, call for help, and administer naloxone can save a life. Join our Standard First Aid course, which covers essential skills for responding to overdoses, cardiac arrests, and other urgent medical scenarios, preparing you to act confidently in emergencies.
