In an unprecedented move to combat the devastating impacts of the opioid crisis, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has introduced a groundbreaking and one-of-a-kind workplace regulation. The Ontario Workplace Naloxone Program showcases Ontario's dedication to safeguarding its workers from the severe risks of opioid poisoning. While prioritizing physical safety, the initiative also combats stigma and promotes a more understanding and supportive workplace environment. It's with great pleasure to announce that Heart to Heart First Aid CPR Services Inc. is a proud program provider participating in this noble endeavour.

About the Program
Starting June 1, 2023, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) will require employers to provide and maintain naloxone kits in the workplace if the employer becomes aware, or ought reasonably to be aware, that there may be a risk of a worker opioid overdose at a workplace where that worker performs work for the employer.
Those employers must also ensure that, at any time there are workers in the workplace, the naloxone kit is in the charge of a worker who:
- works in the vicinity of the kit, and
- has received training to recognize an opioid overdose, to administer naloxone and to acquaint the worker with any hazards related to the administration of naloxone.

Ontario’s Workplace Naloxone Program: For a limited time, the Ontario’s Workplace Naloxone Program is providing initial support to employers who are required to comply with the naloxone requirements in the OHSA by providing free naloxone training for up to two (2) workers per workplace and/or one free nasal naloxone kit per workplace.
Heart to Heart First Aid CPR Services is a proud program provider for the Ontario Workplace Naloxone Program and is supporting employers that are required to comply with OHSA naloxone requirements by offering free workplace naloxone training. Accordingly, this registration form is only for accessing free naloxone training; naloxone kits will NOT be provided upon completion of training. Please note that each employer who is required to comply with the OHSA requirements (an “Eligible Employer”) may register for a maximum of:
- free training for two (2) workers per workplace only.
Multiple Workplace Locations
If you have multiple Eligible Workplaces that meet the OHSA requirements for naloxone, you are eligible to register additional workers for training for each Eligible Workplace location. Multiple registrations for the same workplace location will not be funded through Ontario’s Workplace Naloxone Program.

Eligible Employers will be required to attest at time of registration that they have not previously registered for or received free training through Ontario’s Workplace Naloxone Program for the Eligible Workplace location requested.
